We are looking for anyone based in Southern California who consistently assesses their performance for areas of improvement, has high integrity, and reads a book a month.
I list the compensation rate with our job listings because I want to respect your time. However, the listed compensation plans are general and can be customized and negotiated based on your particular situation.
All employees start with a 1-day work ‘interview’, which is followed by a 90-day training program. Our goal is to see if you meet our high standards and for you to see if we are a good fit for you with a minimal commitment. For anyone that makes it to day-91, profit sharing will be a part of your compensation. We are a team and we want everyone incentives to be aligned.

Account DIRECTOR
Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary, 15 PTO days, 401K match, health insurance, 5% starting profit share.
Location: 1-2 days per week at Garrett offices (3151 Cahuenga Blvd. West), must be based in So Cal, quarterly travel to west coast cities.
Vision: This is a management role. You are the day to day manager of 5 to 7 regional advertising associations. Communication is needed to ensure all parties (corporate, Board and vendors) are on the same page. This sometimes requires the ability to give bad news. This includes presenting to 20-30 people in a business meeting. You fight to keep the Board from micromanaging the work they are not tasked to do. You will be mediating disputes in a public setting and communicating performance results to the group and vendors. You will be in charge of ensuring administrative tasks are completed. This role also requires a keen business sense - you will be asked to analyze and discuss balance sheets, cashflows and market share reports. As the only day to day, paid person working on the Association – you must care about its success and work hard. This is a great chance to learn different business skills, with opportunity to grow within a small firm.
Skills needed:
Quick Response time during business hours
Clear writing and speaking skills
Organized and punctual
Basic analysis skills (balance sheet, cashflow, market share reports)
Reading one book per month
Experience: 3-5 years of account management experience is nice, but not required.
Work Flow:
1. Client point of contact (strong availability + quick reply w clear communication)
2. Book meeting venues and send meeting invites 60 days in advance (see checklist)
3. Call/text for good meeting attendance (24-48 hrs prior)
4. Prepare meeting packets (email meeting packet and reminder by 36 hrs prior)
5. Run meetings – includes speaking to 25 people (see training checklist)
6. Write meeting minutes
7. Sensitive to what client needs arise in meetings and communicates to VP
8. Admin projects (forms, insurance, elections, audits)
9. Maintain Association Database
10. Prepare and deliver annual report per account to VP (see annual checklist)
11. Manage annual checklist by client
12. Annual presentation to the board

Bookkeeper (part time)
Compensation: $40-$50 per hour depending on experience, 401K match, 10 days of PTO, 2.5% profit share.
Location: Garrett offices (3151 Cahuenga Blvd. West)
Vision: This is a part time position with a very flexible work schedule. We need someone who is comfortable with numbers and auditing invoices. You will be reviewing invoices, processing payments in quickbooks, reconciling bank statements and updating financial reports. The work is very straight forward, but requires a passion to understand invoices and flawlessly enter checks for payment.
Required Skills: attention to detail, good with numbers and focus.
Experience: prior experience is great, but we provide a full training for what we need, so as long as you are comfortable with numbers and details you can do well in this position.

Entry level (part time or full time)
Compensation: $25 per hour
Location: Garrett offices (3151 Cahuenga Blvd. West)
Vision: This is a part time position with a very flexible work schedule. This is for a young person who wants to gain real world work experience. Work can be done after school or on Saturdays. This is a challenging work environment because you will be learning about business as well as doing work. This is a great fit for a self motivated young person. It might be the best fit for a that smart kid who does not fit in at school and the traditional path to college.
Required Skills: attention to detail, good with numbers and daily reading.
